IN THE LOOP?

It is my desire to be a resource to you in any way that I can. I believe an important part of family ministry is my partnership with parents. I want to help keep you in the loop on not only what is going on, but also what is being taught. This will give you an opportunity to better engage with your students about what they are learning and how they are learning to apply God’s Word to their lives.

  • High School Sunday School: We are currently in a series called: The Greatest Story Ever Told: A Journey from Genesis to Revelation. One of the goals of this series is to help students realize that the Bible is not a random and disjointed collection of stories, but rather from the beginning to the end it tells a single and unified story of God’s Gospel. This summer we will be starting Part IV of this study, God the King and God All Wise, which will cover 1-2 Samuel, 1 Kings, Job, Ecclesiastes, Psalms, and Proverbs. This Sunday we will be taking a look at 1 Samuel 8 and the people of Israel demanding a king.
  • Middle School Sunday School: The Middle School is going through the same series as the High School on Sunday Mornings: The Greatest Story Ever Told: A Journey from Genesis to Revelation. This week they will be taking a look 1 Samuel 8 and the people demanding a king.
  • High School & Middle School Youth Group: Heaven and Hell are topics that are rarely taught and often times poorly understood. So this summer we will be opening up with a series that takes a look at a biblical understanding of Heaven and Hell.

If you have any comments, questions, or concerns, please feel free to email or call me!

Our students are daily encountering fear, stress, and anxiety for various reasons: busy schedules, trying to meet expectations to earn good grades, trying to fit in, performing in athletics or fine arts, peer pressure, the need for approval, homework, deadlines, receiving scholarships for college, bullying, gossip, facing trials and hardships and so on. So the questions we must ask are: how can we find relief from the fear, stress and anxiety that comes our way? What does the Bible say about these topics and does it have an answer for us in where we can find rest? This new series will dig deeper into these questions and seek to provide answers!
  • Middle School Connect: For Connect the Middle School will be going through a new series on Wednesday nights called “Explore: A pre-confirmation class,” which will be taught by Dave Wiersma. The goal of this class is to explore the various aspects of our faith, what it means to be a Christian, and what a Christian believes. This class is not confirmation. This class is simply to help our Middle School students think more intentionally about the fundamentals of the faith and to supplement the confirmation process. I know many of you may be wondering though when confirmation will take place. The answer is that we are currently doing a complete overhaul of the confirmation process and the plan is to unveil it in the Fall of 2016. If you have any questions or concerns about the confirmation process, please feel free to call or send me an email.

If you have any comments, questions, or concerns, please feel free to email or call me!

IN THE LOOP?

It is my desire to be a resource to you in any way that I can. I believe an important part of family ministry is my partnership with parents.

This spring we will be starting Part III of this study, God the Savior and God the Judge, which will cover Numbers, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, and 1 Samuel. This Sunday we will be taking a look at Joshua 24 and Joshua’s charge to Israel.
  • Middle School Sunday School: The Middle School is going through the same series as the High School on Sunday Mornings: The Greatest Story Ever Told: A Journey from Genesis to Revelation. This week they will be taking a look at Numbers 21 and the Bronze Serpent.
  • High School Connect: For Connect, the High School will be starting a new series on Wednesday night called “Fear, stress, anxiety, and the God of Rest.” Let’s face it.
